Now I usually put my best work directly onto a site called Writing.com, which is a great community for new and veteran writers alike. I was even gifted an Upgraded account, which allows up to 250 entries for your portfolio. Unfortunately, I didn't back any of those stories up anywhere so when my Upgraded account suddenly expired, my portfolio dropped from 250 to (at the time) 5. Work was lost forever and it makes me very sad.
In order to prevent this kind of loss again, I decided to not only start backing up my stories locally, but also try to find a good, free place online where I could have all my writing without worrying about my portfolio suddenly shrinking. That's when I found Deviantart.
So now I still use Writing.com for my favorite works (even with the shrunken portfolio size, the community is just too good to pass up) and use Deviantart as a sort of online warehouse where I can hold the good, the not so good, the new, the old, and even a couple images I may grab here and there.
With that out of the way, I hope you'll enjoy reading all the work that I have, finished or not. Have a good one!
